Thinline Jazzmaster build

What's Hot
I picked up a thinline Jazzmaster body, which lead to me getting a neck and pickups etc.  I hope to fit it all up this weekend, but here are a couple of shots before assembly.

Thanks Wez.  It's the scratch plate from my Squier J Mascis Jazzmaster that I'm changing over to a Jaguar look.  I've got a mustang bridge and a set of AVRI jazzmaster pickups for this one.  I was surprised how nice the gold looked when I put them together.  Once it warms up enough to work outside, I'll get the Squier finished.  This is the the parts on it (they are Mojotone 59 Jazzmaster pickups).

  • @PhilKing that looks nice. Where'd you get the body from?

Picked it up on Reverb.  Sorry, I don't remember who it was.  I think it was a custom job.

The JM-jag conversion/merge looks wicked too. Well done on both counts, wow duly awarded.

You should paint the inside of the f hole gold to match.

@PhilKing out of interest do you know what wood it is? The grain looks nice. Is it just painted in that picture or is there a finish on it? Did you put a finish on after?

Asking as it’s looking similar to something I plan to build soon.
