I try watching That Tone Show but fall asleep after a couple of minutes.
Drink some coffee - it might just be worth staying awake as there's some interesting stuff. I get it though, there's a fair bit of guff and meaningless meandering by the 'not Thomas Dill' chap..

    No pain, no gain?

I've had a Kemper for a few years on and off and I'm pretty good at dialling it in, but every now and then you do get a light bulb moment from somewhere and go "wow!" I never thought of that.  :-)

Anyway, who says the Germans have no sense of humour?
    Everyone.

I was looking through my Thomann order history and spotted that it is 10 years to the day since I ordered my Kemper (rack version).

Initially I bought it for my home studio, then I started gigging it but later switched to a Helix for convenience / MIDI flexibility.  It continued to be my go-to in the studio (I don't think that I've ever used the Helix on recordings) then, in the last month or so, I've started gigging it again.

If it gave up the ghost tomorrow I'd order a replacement the same day.

It's quite incredible really for a piece of digital gear.

I'm similar - Toaster, then Rack and now Stage. I never bother to look anywhere else as I still think it's killer and does everything I need today and consider I will in the future.

Had a Stage. Sold it. Regretted that.
    Now have Player Lvl 3.
    Brilliant gear
Have a Nano Cortex with a powerbank in a tiny bag for travelling but the Player is still the beast.

Does the Player Lvl 3 have amps, or is it just used for FX?

It’s equivalent to a full fat Kemper.

Without the ability to create profiles.

Got my Power Rack in 2020 (middle of the first UK lockdown). Been great since so I hope it's still good for me for another 5 years.

I've had my toaster since 2012.

Apologies in advance for asking a question that is probably both stupid and already answered...but...if I buy a kemper profiler head, toaster version - what do I actually have access to out of the box? I'm confused by the different levels - level II/III etc. Do you need to pay some kind of subscription or something?

[edit] Oh! The other question I had was about using a power amp and cab rather than (or as well as) FRFR...is it possible to in some way bypass the cab modelling in normal profiles? Can you set it up so that you have one output going to a power amp without cab sim and another going to FOH with cab sim? I imagine since the profile includes the whole chain, this might not be trivial?

Level I, II and III paid upgrades are applicable to the Player only.

The heads and stage models include everything they produce out of the box.

As far as I can work out the level II / III thing only applies to the Player (the small unit), not the full-blown head.  I've had my profiler (rack) for around a decade without any need for a subscription.

As to your second question, I'll take a look next time I boot mine up.

Well, that didn't take long.  If you feed the Main Out of the Kemper to your FRFR / PA System and the Monitor Out to your power amp / conventional cab it's possible to switch off cabinet modelling in the monitor path.

Indeed! Thanks. And does that work well? Does switching off cabinet modelling produce decent results?

No idea I'm afraid.  I only ever run into studio monitors, PA or FRFR cab, I don't own a conventional guitar cab.
