Initial set list sounds great. 80s/90s cheesy pop rock I nearly lost my lungs singing along to "Here I go again on my own" driving home this afternoon : ) foo fighters, everlong please! 60s waterloo sunset (I suggested  so I would say it!)  American woman sounds good.  Beginners blues rock how about American Girl if Tom Petty counts as blues rock, love playing that song.

For AC/DC I'd nominate something like "Up to my neck in you" or "Rock and roll damnation" as being much more singable than Highway (and arguably more fun to play without being massively harder in the rhythm department).

Otherwise it looks great, although will involve a lot of YouTube and learning from me, as I don't automatically know many of those (which is a good thing!).

  • I have a real hankering to sing some Cash.

Fulsom Prison Blues is my fave and it's a nice guitar piece and a new style for the jam

I was planning on a solo solitary man... If there was extra time. Cash is great.

But that is as "steady" as it's possible to be - it's Dm all the way through, which doesn't give a lot of interest for the bassist or the rhythm player.

Assuming that Mama Don't was done at Huddersfield (?) we could try
    • Cajun Moon or
    • Crazy Mama (I hear a harp part there for @Bridgehouse) ; or
    • Any Way the Wind Blows or
    • Carry On or
    • Devil in Disguise or
    • ...
Any of those work for you @fandango?

Need your input to filter down the following to one from each genre -

An AC/DC track that's singable - Highway to Hell??

A JJ Cale track - which one?

A beginners blues rock -  Rocky Mountain Way

A Widdly One - Beat it or Purple Rain, Big Bad Moon?

Strutting Rock Classic - Cult - Little Devil or Kravitz - American Woman?

60s one - All the Young Dudes (ok, that's 70s, but hey!)

Pop Punk - Green Day - American Idiot, Boulevard of Broken Dreams or Basket Case

Something 80s/90s cheesy pop rock - Give us a classic!  Boys are Back in Town

Angsty Foo Fighters - All My Life, Walk, The Pretender?

Anything else someones desperate to play? or an genre I haven't covered? I want to make sure everyone whos signed up has a song they are happy to play on.

Strutting Rock Classic - my vote goes to Little Devil

    Cheesy 80's/90's Pop/Rock - how about Jesse's Girl?

If there is a willing lead player, would love to include The Bluest Blues by Alvin Lee

    How about Ring of Fire?

The most heartfelt tribute to a hot curry I've ever heard...

Thanks @sticker, we’ve gone for Green Day at this one, but those suggestions will be good to look at for the following ones. Can you suggest any particular tracks by those bands that are interesting to play from a guitar point of view?

Would need a kick in the nads to hit that one personally (no, that is not an invitation to volunteer! ;) )

@darthed1981 - do you want to try the manics track we missed at Sasquatch to fill the angsty rock slot?
