    for something a bit different try some italian folk. gabriella ferri my fav for that. some sublime things among her 1960s and 1970s albums. but here are a couple of her duets for harmonies..

    greek folk has a similar feeling. try mikis theodorakis.
    hofner hussie & hayman harpie. what she said...

    Costello - multi-tracking himself
    Joni - multi-tracking herself

    Have a listen to this. It's The Eagles warming up their voices prior to going on stage with a FIVE PART unaccompanied  harmony of "Seven Bridges Road".
    Seven Bridges Road is the first thing that came into my head from reading the thread title too.

    Also, ABBA.

    'What a fool believes' - Michael McDonald and his backing vocals on Steely Dan tracks such as 'Peg'

    Earth Wind & Fire tracks like 'September', 'Let's Groove Tonight' & their collaboration with the Emotions on 'Boogie Wonderland'

    Jellyfish - Anything but I'll go with 'New Mistake'

    10cc's I'm Not In Love often gets cited but I shall nominate the less well known Lazy Ways from the album How Dare You!

    Almost anything with a Phil Spector wall of sound production (or Brian Wilson imitation thereof).

    Also this. I'm decent at harmonies almost entirely because of listening to John Denver records in the car while growing up.

    Also while this might not be what you were after, nothing beats a good choral work for harmonies. This is spine-tingling.

    Arguably the best of the British harmony bands and a big influence on early Queen: Capability Brown (no not the gardener).

    Eagles = Yes.
    Beach Boys = Yes.
    ABBA = Yes.

    But didn't it all start here ...

    The other instruments really are just the backing.  It's all about the vocals.
    Having trouble posting images here?  This might help.
