Went to Hereford cathedral last nigh to hear Hereford Choral Society perform it with Marches Baroque.
An enjoyable experience but I'm sorry to say I missed hearing some of the rather lovely counterpoints that I heard on my recording (by David Willcocks). I'm sure they were there, but I wonder if there were things that confused the sound?
- Hereford cathedral has an impressively long reverb time
- The conductor kept the tempo lively
Wouldn't the result be somewhat a "smearing" of the sound especially by the time it had reached the back where I was? Would you hear better sitting a bit further forward in the nave?
"Working" software has only unobserved bugs. (Parroty Error: Pieces of Nine! Pieces of Nine!)
Seriously: If you value it, take/fetch it yourself
