This is the 47th solo of the Month (SotM) Challenge.
The challenge is now open ends at midnight 23rd April 2019.
Here's this month's backing track (you can download it from soundcloud).
Record your solo over the top of it and then submit it (ideally in mp3 format) to solos@theFB.co.uk
Also, feel free to comment on how you approached the solo, which will add a bit more interest and maybe we can learn something from each other.
Discussion: An old fashioned jazz style track, with some tricky chords to solo over (well tricky for me).
Title: Old Style
Tempo: 155
Chords:
Cma7 A7
Dm7 B7
Em7 Bb7 A7
Ab7 G7
The backing track has some headroom to add your solos. Add your solo and (as a guideline) try to avoid boosting the overall level beyond that if possible. That way the entries should be at roughly the same level and we won't get into loudness wars.
Voting will start soon after the submission deadline, with each voter selecting their 1st, 2nd and 3rd choice.
First choice gets 5 points - Second choice gets 3 points - Third choice gets 1 point
The order and scores of the top three entries will be announced soon after the voting ends. If there are 8 or more entries, then the order and scores of those in the top half will be announced.
No prizes. It's just for fun.
It's not a competition.

Loved this progression.
Mine was recorded live on my acoustic using a Shure Beta58a with a touch of reverb in post.
1 track lead melody
1 track an accompanying pattern
That's got to be the fastest ever. You certainly live up to your forum name
There'll be a playlist posted when there's one more entry.
Played on an Eastwood Astroluxe Cadet through Overloud 3, R.Jazz 12'0 amp, speaker and reverb.
I noodled over this track a lot and eventually figured out the simple ascending / descending line that ran through the whole thing, On the g string - 5th fret, 6 fret, 7 fret, 8th fret, 9th fret, 7654.
