What colour to finish my DC Jr?

What's Hot
Okay, so I am 50/50 on whether sell this (currently in £Parts) or keep it and do the right thing and complete the job!

Looking for opinions/suggestions on the colour - any pics of your finished Jr projects welcomed too!

I don't want traditional Gibson as this is not a one and it won't have it on the headstock either - common theme on my guitars, as those of you with a sharp eye would have already spotted ;)

It will be nitro and I think I am going to keep the back of the neck natural - just oiled as I don't like the feel of nitro on the back of my necks... too sticky.

My #1 colour at the moment is Shoreline Gold as I think it will look good on the DC without standing out too much - was even thinking of just finishing the front and leaving the back and sides just oiled like a LP, but without binding I am not sure if this finish will look any good..

Another colour I had in mind was British Racing Green or a dark solid variant.

Let me know what you think..

Tradition obviously dictates sunburst, TV yellow, cherry or possibly black.

But I'd be tempted to go for a Gretschy orange or something pale & Fendery like surf green or daphne blue just to be different. Might give it a bit of a Fano vibe.

I guess if you went for a solid colour, you'd have a hard contrast between painted body and oiled mahogany neck? That could look cool, but if you wanted a more consistent all-over colour, you could stain the whole thing.

If I did go traditional it would have to be cherry :+1:

If you're thinking of green then I like Cadillac Green, which is a Gretsch colour but Fender have done Telecasters in that finish.

I'd  possibly go for a fendery colour like sonic blue, daphne, sea foam or candy red or go non traditional like a big ol sparkle

Dont really like pastels on a Jr. There was one for sale on here not long ago, really nice but sonic blue Jr... Nah. Although saying that I reckon seafoam with tortie guard might look good..

Might be predictable, but I think TV Yellow is the coolest colour ever for these Guitars

Reckon the British Racing Green is a good shout - perhaps BRG metallic?

I had similar thoughts around colours when I did mine. Daphne Blue was high on my list.
Then lack of patience got the better of me and I broke out the Rustins.
They are great guitars and mine gets lots of play time.

Hi mate, here are some shots of the different colours I’ve had on mine, sonic blue and an Aged sparkling burgundy, also the gold undercoat.
