What's your go to secret delay setting (not a tap or tempo dependent setting) for that special solo of yours?

Or perhaps it's your always on setting or slap back....something that works every time that does not have to be dialed into tempo

settings please in Ms  FB and mix

Thanks Guys  :)

On the original Boss DM-2 and DM-3, point all the control knobs towards the LED to get the 'perfect' slap sound. So that would be approx 150ms, delay level 50%, feedback level 25%. These probably won't work so well on a digital delay unless you can set a low pass filter on the repeats with a cutoff around 3kHz.

Interestingly (to me anyway) to get the same delay time in the Standard mode of the DM-2w you need to set the Rate control to half-way - different pot taper I guess.

I like to turn the delay and distortion right up, so you cant hear me screw up the solo ;)

The 'Simple Delay' on the HX Stomp - set to just one repeat and low mix (about 28%).

It just adds a little bit more and a 3 dimensional kinda sound.

I think actually that's the most realistic approach - don't set it in time with the song, have it at a tempo that gives the right ambiance for you, after all if you were playing in a cave there would be a certain echo tempo regardless of the timing of your song :)

I haven't switched my delay pedal on for at least five years. I wonder if it still works.

Then you'd have both kinds of music covered.

I have 1/4 note slap on for solo’s and dirty textures. I also run 2 delays at the same time. 1/4 note & 1/8.

a DUCKED DELAY on about 480 works for everything and never gets too congested or confused.
Brilliant type of delay and it still fattens .......if you shorten it you can get a vaguely double tracked effect without it getting messy.
