I owned a Voodoo Vibe Junior for a few years. When I bought it, it was my most expensive pedal purchase. I enjoyed using it with some gentle movement when set to Vibrato, but the pedal never made it to any of my 'boards, not least because of the unavoidable bass/volume boost.

These days I can get sounds that I prefer from either my Phase 100 or my Subdecay Vagabond in Harmonic mode.

Jam Pedals retro vibe ~ awesome!
Was going to say the same! Just sounds perfect with no tweaking.

@Gassage Did you try a FoxRox Aquavibe or Provibe (either stand-alone, or as found in a Captain Coconut or Captain Coconut 2?)

I've got a CC2 if you wanted to try it.

    Indeed. Foxrox Provibe.

The best one I had though was an early Dod Vibro-Thang which was £15 at the time.

How about the Neo Ventilator...... :)

The vibe for me always seemed like one of those fx not worth having as a stand-alone effect, but instead as part of an advanced unit like the empress or moogerfooger m-103 where the effect can be dialled in if needed.

  • Madebymike does a Lolychorus, which is a chorus pedal essentially, but has a switch which turns it into a vibe, which is what i use it for.
    very versatile modulation.

I saw some demos for the Solidgoldfx Athena recently, which is a 2 stage phaser with a deliberate asymmetry...sounds pretty good in a vibe-ish way and is small and relatively cheap.

I also have a hankering to try the Korg Nu-Vibe just because of the cool lights...

Well, as it stands, I have my TC Phaser XII, plus one of the Shinei, Dry bell and Fulltone.

I need to mess with the Dry Bell trimmers as they're supposed to make a big difference.

Kr megavibe for the win. I sold one on here recently. I tried the microvibe then a mojovibe, but afyer buying a kr megavibe i no longer look for vibes.

In fact i had three at one point. Just got a smallbox and a big box now.

Ps the kr uses carbon comp resistors so sounds nice and warm.

This is one of the most cork sniffing comments I’ve read in the FX section....

Oh shit, I’ve just quoted myself

Friend of mine has two original Univibes, the lucky bugger.  I've had to repair both and was interested to see that one uses carbon comp resistors and the other is carbon film.  I wouldn't say the carbon comp one is any warmer.  Noisier yes.  I built mine, exact same Univibe circuit, with all metal film resistors.  Can't tell it apart from the carbon resistor versions.

    This is simply mojo nonsense.

Carbon comp resistors add nothing but (a little bit of) noise.

Danelectro Cool Cat Vibe - Great sounding budget photcell vibe, a bit too hissy and needs to be modded to get rid of delay when switching on.

That’s not a bug, it’s a feature  - I used to switch mine in and out on its own footswitch rather than let my programmable looper do it because I like hearing it lurching into action :-)
Don't ask me, I just play the damned thing...

Carbon resistors take the radion element of each terminal and fuse them into an aggregate, which  does actually have an effect on overall tonality
