Driving there is madness. Just find somewhere with free parking in a suburb near a tube station, and get there that way.

I went to the first one they did in 1984 at The Barbican. I met John Entwistle, Jack Bruce and a young guy from America called Paul Reed Smith who had brought over six guitars he’d made himself and was trying to drum up business. We didn’t like them much, very fancy, and we thought they would never sell.............

Did you used to go to the BMF @ Olympia too Rob? I found an old programme and ticket from there....entry was £3. My programme is signed by Jack Bruce, Mick Ralphs , Jerry Donahue and some others I don't even remember. Always a good excursion for a Lancastrian teenager.

No, I never went to that one.

I used to go to a lot of the London shows back in the day but the last one I went to at Olympia had so few vendors as to be a waste of time. I live in the South East and London is an expensive day out for nothing in my mind and is a ballache to travel around.

I have enjoyed the Birmingham show this year and the Kempton Park show as there was a good mix of big and small vendors with a more keep it real feel than corporate booths.

So will probably pass as said if you drive its a PIA if you use public transport its pretty pricey. I honestly think Guitarist are overreaching with the idea of the biggest magazine biggest show blah blah

think the website currently lists 48 vendors and if you remove the 3 or 4 magazines and other non-guitar stands like guitar techniques magazine, it's not a massive uptake.

I live in London, so will probably go.  They seem to have combined it with the Bass Guitar show this year as well, so there might be a bit of extra bass stuff, which I would be interested in.

I will look nearer the time, and see who is exhibiting.  If they don't confirm more than they already have, it might not be worth it.

I thought it was really poor last time (except for the Cream themed gig in the evening) no plans to do another.
    Red ones are better.

Unless a group outing organised, London is a bit too far from Stirling for a guitar show.......

Might pop down to Cumbria though....

I will probably go; there's some chat about the bass bit on basschat; not sure if amalgamating the two shows is good or not, but I guess it reduces costs.

would also be interesting to find if Fender are actually in a position to sell at the show, via an appropriate dealer, who is also exhibiting at the show

We’ll have stuff from this year’s launches, plus Gretsch, Charvel etc too.

I don’t know which dealers are going I’m afraid. Don’t think we’re selling anything, just there so people can try the gear. We should have a few special guests over the weekend too.

Wasn’t gonna do it but for a fiver extra (for charity) now on top of the entry ticket the GM of Takamine is doing setups and restrings on Takamine guitars, so gonna take my P3FCN in. Includes a swag bag too so totally getting my money’s worth!

Bet he'd be pleased if I turned up with my knackered old EG332C that needs a new nut, refret and general sort-out :)
