I loved that guy. He was a great all rounder. Excellent guitar player, wonderful, distinctive singer and a memorable stage presence.
Quite sad he's gone, he represented more simple uncomplicated times.
Oh, and effortlessly cool as well.

What a great performer. I remember that ad well and wondered at the time who it was until I discovered a few years later. 
Not just Leon Redbone but British Rail sadly gone too, no relaxing there anymore.....
