Martin dealers with decent stock?

Any suggestions for dealers in the UK who are likely to have more than the odd one in stock?

Ideally I'd like to try a D28, HD28 and something with a V spec neck all in the same place...
Red ones are better.

More than one? Back when I were a lad - in the 1980s - there was none of this going to a shop with *more than one* of the brand you wanted. You trudged around town every weekend looking in the half dozen music shops, waiting patiently for any example at all, even if it wasn't the model you wanted. You took it or left it - mostly took it, because you'd never played another one and didn't know any better... it might be a great one but could easily be a dog and you wouldn't really know. You played it and made it your own whether you liked it or not, because now you couldn't afford another guitar.

On balance it's probably better that it's not like this any more :).

Fun fact - the disgrtibutor (Westside) can’t tell you what shops have what stock - so if you’re trying to find a less than common model of Martin you have to ring every dealer individually and ask (or check their websites - but given that we all know thta many shopss stock lists are unreliable, it’s a call)

    That seems a bit naff.
    Red ones are better.

Yeah, Westside are the same chaps that shaft us on Mesa pricing too, iirc

Steven James Guitar and Amps in Middlesbrough have a decent selection and are a very good local store rather than a big chain

If you are left-handed it still is much like this!  Anyway - back to the thread - if you are around the South West then Project Music in Exeter have got a wide range - and a lot of other top brands as well. If that isn't enough then Mansons is just a stone's throw away

Last time that I asked, my nearest dealer (Pembroke, South Wales) had a D28 in stock but almost certainly nothing else in the price range against which to compare.

it just struck me as good that a distributer wouldn't think it part of what they do to be able to direct customers to dealers with particular uncommon items. They seemed baffled by the question.
