What do you do when some smart arse has wrapped his wires around a lug?

Okay so I am trying to re-wire a switch but every wire has been wrapped around each lug so the wires are not coming off the lug and unsoldering is a bitch!

I had to cut cut 2 wires and I am left with the mangled wire around the lugs

It could be worse - it could be a Fulltone where they've covered the whole top of the switch in resin, and made the wires so short you can't cut them and have them reach the new switch. Twats.

Some combination of tweezers, needle-nose pliers and a small pointy thing are your friend here.

Try a spike to loosen the turns of wire, then grab it with needle nose pliers.
