I actually just tried to get some helpful pics of the back and sides but they all end up being reflections of things in my house with a vaguely guitar shaped  outline :-/

Not sure re fret size/shape - but the neck is certainly a bit fuller than the current production regular D/HD necks but not the same as a frankly odd 'modified V' they do
    Red ones are better.

The one on the RIGHT here is the same guitar when I was in the shop - the other one is the same model, year or 2 older. This is a better representation of how dark the back is - the one I didn't buy was unusually (imo) light - but gorgeous for it

The left one looks light like Brazilian rosewood, the one on the right as you say is the more traditional look for a D28/HD28. Did you check the one on the left, was it Brazilian?

Oh...and we can see you, hiding behind the stool in the reflection, you weirdo.

What this thread needs is a nicely recorded sound clip, so we can all bask in the sonic glory of this rare beast. : >

Were the bells a factory-fitted option?

I given to understand they are attached to the toes if the angels who perpetually circumnavigate one's head whilst playing a good D28.

These are great guitars. Just as a head's up for those in the market for a D28 Authentic 1941, GuitarGuitar have one in their sale at the moment for £4999. That's the cheapest I think I've seen one new in recent years.

    That is a good price.
    There's a chance it's a pre-torrefaction spec one so.if that's important to someone check first
