The guy from Fender made them sound very good on the Andertons video that was linked above.

Some nice additions to a range I was already a fan of.

The Vintera name is a bit shit but it’s not like it’s printed on the headstock!

I am thankful for this because some of the guitars do look fantastic...

    But no nitro finish
I’d rather nitro, but if the poly isn’t wildly thick (see a Baja tele for silly thick finish) and the necks are satin finished (see new player series for how to do it) that works too

Another fine productive day in the Fender R&D dept.....they make the Audi A4 development team look creative.

Well, to be fair, these are supposed to be copies of guitars from the 50s and 60s.
I play guitar because I enjoy it rather than because I’m any good at it

Awful name. Looks like it’s not just Gibson that make dodgy decisions.
Bad decision for us but possibly good for them since they're just charging more for the same thing.
    Are they?

The 60's Jazz is up for £869.  The Classic Series Jazz seems to be £899 most places.  Slight reduction.
Just looking at the 50s Strats on Anderton’s webbie. The Vinteras are £729 (£749 for the white blonde), whilst the old Classic series are £659. So, unless they’re discounting the Classics, it’s quite a hike.

(Sounds like a crap car, though!)
'Yeah, it would have to be a Vauxhall.'

  • I don’t mind the name, at least they’re doing something different rather coming up with a new combination of the same old words: classic, special, standard, player, vintage, series, select, professional, deluxe etc.

They have to, the marketing department have run out of all the other recycled names that you listed  ;)

Who watches those?  That's why they have someone doing the rounds of people like Andertons.

People who prefer to hear someone like Tyler Bryant playing than Lee Anderton?

I have the Classic Series 50s Tele (white blonde, maple neck) and I just tried a Vintera 50s mod Tele today and it feels and sounds a lot better. The neck feels really good and the pickups sound clearer, and it’s lighter. Played straight into a Blues Jnr IV and was very impressed.
