Yeah totally this, as much as it'll hurt for a couple of days.

You have to keep it forever now. No great hardship ;)

I'm actually never one to baby my stuff but this guitar has had such a profound effect on me thus far that this time I do feel a bit sick!

Note to self - don't leave the case open near the guitar - the clasps stick out further than you think and if it spontaneously closes...

    Ooops.

I think I dinged my Furch, which is the most expensive guitar I've ever owned, within a fortnight of getting it. Was a really stupid ding as well - smacked the top into a table corner because I was doing something in a rush.

I totally get that they're just things, and don't matter. I'll happily lend my stuff to pretty much anyone. But it still hurts a little every time I see that ding, because it was so eminently avoidable and stupid.

If I haven't recently confirmed it's not lost, does that mean it's not lost? "Schrodingers Thing On A Thing" theory....

(none of that will mean anything to folk who aren't in our Facebook clique lol)

It's odd - the other expensive acoustic I own I got secondhand for a decent price (all things being relative...) because the guy who'd had it build dinked it on day 2 and felt so sick about it he couldn't bear to look at it. So that's that with it's repaired crack, and now my Martin with it's week1 dinks!

They actually had the same model guitar used in the shop (complete with a couple of blemishes and minor repairs) but this one sounded better

  • Tim, Ryan or Martin Bailey will be able to fix that for you, they’ll use steam to remove the dings

I think that it is time to move this one on - at a heavily reduced price :-) Feel your pain - think my next one will be reliced just to avoid this!!

I remember when i kicked my dumbbell across the floor to see it swerve and hit my acoustic and scratch the bottom.  The agony on my face.

Took me about 3 days to drop my guitar - just got a little crack in the gloss on the binding, hardly noticeable. Unlike my last mobile phone which I dropped down the stairs the day I got it. It hit the metal stair gate at the bottom and ended up with a spiderweb-style crack across the whole screen. I felt sick about that.
