Building a Man Cave - need ideas

What's Hot
So, both big brothers have now moved out of the folks place, which leaves two spare rooms as well of a small room which was, until now, used for storage.

As I am at uni and still living with mum and dad (I'm 21 and poor), and will be around for a little bit longer, they have decreed that it would be useful if I could use one of these rooms as my study space. In what I assume to be a jab from the other half "[I] can put all of [my] guitar stuff in there too so it's not in our room".

And so this week begins the preparation of the man cave/study space/riff den.

What I'm looking for from you guys is inspiration. Put your man cave pictures in here as well as anything you'd put in yours if you don't have one.
Just so people are aware. I have no idea what any of these words mean.

Converted garage earlier this year. Not really a man cave as such but its good for playing guitar without peeing off the neighbours in, has electrics and wi-fi.

Still got a bit of furniture to add and decorating to do (posters on the wall, etc) so its not finished yet.

Converted single garage.  Doubles as my ‘studio’ and my home office.  A bit cozy but fine for one (and that’s the way I like it).

I got some way to go before I catch up with you lol.

By the way what guitar rack stands are those? Are they the Hercules? I'm after another one for my room in the house.

Rockstand.  A 9 and a 3 http://https//www.thomann.de/gb/rockstand_rs20863.htm . 2 acoustics, 2 basses and 4 electrics in one (plus a gap), 3x PRS in the other.  I’m thinking of putting the acoustics on wall hangers which means that I could lose the triple rack and gain some floor space

I see (Link doesn't work by the way). My guitars live in the house (the garage is detached and I have yet to secure it with alarms/CCTV) so I won't run the risk of leaving in there overnight. I have a 6 guitar rack in there, but I want one in my room too. I wonder if they do a 5 guitar one...

my garage age is integral so no problem leaving the gear out

Cheers for that. Probably won't need 9 slots though!

Are they pretty easy to assemble? I saw a Fender multi-rack thing and it looks a bit of a bugger to put together.

Yeah even still with the changing temperature I wouldn't leave stuff in there in mine, I tried leaving one or two in there over the winter months and they were almost frozen!

Very easy.  They come in two pieces (base and back) and you bolt them together with two nuts and bolts.  They may have even been already bolted and I just had to tighten them up?

The guitars are pretty close together so it's a squeeze to get the acoustics in.  That's why they'll be going on the wall when I get round to it.

    "Dear Mr. @Musicwolf ,

It has been brought to our attention that there exists an empty stand slot before the resonator. This contravenes GAS regulation 2.47A, sub-section ic, and we ask that you rectify this situation immediately.

    The GAS Board."

I was saving that slot for the Gilmour Black Strat - but I was outbid.  I will take remedial action and I shall, of course, notify the Board as soon as the situation is remedied.

  • The room I think I'll end up with will no doubt be the smallest. I think it's about 5m x 3m with a little alcove that probably adds another metre in one corner.

It's hard to really get any context on its size at current as it's being used for storage so it's full of all sorts of tat at the minute.
