    Mind. Blown.

I love these sorts of shows. George Clarke's Amazing Spaces is one I've been watching a lot too to get some ideas.
Just so people are aware. I have no idea what any of these words mean.

  • It's worth also pointing out - if anyone has any man cave stuff they're looking at offloading or throwing away then let me know.

Particularly interested in one of those Fender/Marshall/Gibson/Gretsch/etc. Bar stools you see in all the guitar shops.

    That's not a man cave, it's a studio  :) :+1:
Be careful not to accidentally activate that Stargate, or you'll lose all your gear in the vortex...

    Like this?

They're not exactly cheap.  I bought one for my son for Christmas the other year.  He's only just started learning guitar but he always used to be drawn to these stools whenever he was with me on visits to music stores.

At 5m x 3m your room sounds quite generous to me.  From memory I'm at 3.6m x 2.5m.  The important thing is not the size, it's the fact that it's your room.

To be honest, I'm not too sure on size. I'm going from guesswork while being out of the house at the minute.

@tekbow ; what's that leather strap hanging on your wall?  I assume it's something to do with BDSM.

By the way, Hans Zimmer understands how to do a man cave...

It does look like a straight razor strop.
I'm more concerned at the workstation ergonomics. :o
    D minus, must try harder.

Cheers for that. Probably won't need 9 slots though!

Are they pretty easy to assemble? I saw a Fender multi-rack thing and it looks a bit of a bugger to put together.

Very easy.  They come in two pieces (base and back) and you bolt them together with two nuts and bolts.  They may have even been already bolted and I just had to tighten them up?

The guitars are pretty close together so it's a squeeze to get the acoustics in.  That's why they'll be going on the wall when I get round to it.

Hmm sounds easy enough it seems. Just the rack case ones are easier to set up so I either get another one of those or go for the ones you got.

Every man deserves a man cave, mine is the basement so is underground and quite close to being an actual cave :D

We all do, until we end up with bad backs, wrists etc.
    Not criticising, just concerned  ;)

Got the razor strop right though  :)

  • Turns out the space I will be inheriting is smaller than the space I was hoping for.

2.2m x 2.5m is what I'm working with. Going to be a tight squeeze methinks

    My current man cave:

It is my 7th studio in as many countries and currently packed up ready for a move back to the UK.
If I had to strip it back to as little as possible I'd get a fast computer a good audio interface and some decent monitors, plus a few instruments.
The rest is window dressing really, although everything was bought for a reason.

    What drums are those?
If we are not ashamed to think it, we should not be ashamed to say it.

It’s painful having only 1 guitar in ‘my room’ atm.

Thanks @YellowLedBetterMan , just sitting in here listening to the reissued Astral Weeks on vinyl, it’s glorious but nails on a blackboard for my Mrs. Man Caves are great for resolving those sorts of issues :-)
