Recommend acoustic for around £600?

I'm delving into the world of acoustics and want to replace my old steel string that I purchased in the 90's. Can anyone recommend a decent acoustic for around £600?

I have one of these https://www.fairdealmusic.co.uk/tanglewood-x15-ns-dreadnought-electro-acoustic-guitar

i got mine for £650 with a hard case, fantastic guitars.

Edit: it's not an electro-acoustic as the link states!
Tomorrow will be a good day.

Coda in Stevenage sell Eastman guitars, you can get an AC model for around £600.

Guild and Faith do nice acoustics under that price, Millers in Cambridge sell Faith.

If you get a chance try PRS SE range if only to discount them (I did and ended up buying one!).

PMT in Cambridge to try a few different makes to see what you like?

Also for around that price range check out Faith guitars

Designed by Patrick James Eggle, solid woods, nicely made. They sound great for the money.

It depends really, there are a lot of factors I'd look at answering before making a choice.

    - what is your playing style?  Do you mostly strum, or finger pick?
    - what kind of neck profile do you like?
    - Do you like a narrow nut width or wider?  Same for string spacing at the saddle.  Generally if you like a wider string spacing at the nut and saddle it's down to one will fingerpick the guitar.
    - What body size do you find the most comfortable?

I always liked Yamaha  LL series but ended up with a takamine fd 360sc at the time . Yammy apx are nice too . I remember a vintage v300 being voted the best guitar under £1000 one year by a guitar magazine . At the time it was about £140 new. They’re about £199 now

  • I love Faith guitars- you can choose the body size/shape and price point to suit you.

I have a Naked Mercury- it's elegant, simple & bloody marvelous.

That 12 fret Mars model is superb. Niche guitar I know but it’s a stonker

Thanks for the advice. I will check out some of the good suggestions.

Unfortunately, I don't have any idea what I like as I have never really played acoustic guitar before. I'm gonna take a trip to music village and maybe coda.

I had planned to get a big baby Taylor but when I played other guitars in the store the baby Taylor seemed a bit well babyish.

Whatever you end up with it will be great. Never have there been such good guitars for such little money. Don’t be shy of Far Eastern built. They are producing some of the best sub 1000 guitars around. Sigma and Recording king are two examples. I honestly wouldn’t trade my Sigma J45 copy for the real thing

Give a Yamaha Transacoustic a try, yes for the money you will get a 'better' acoustic, but for around £500 I don't think anything else is as much fun.

(I bought my FG-TA for £499 including an excellent hard case from Kenny's Music as part of a deal they did before Xmas)

On that note. If you don’t mind a few scratches this is all solid and will be exceptional
