'59 ES-225. They did a reissue a couple of years back, think someone was selling one here quite recently.

I like the look of the Casino, they're P90's in there right? I do have a Les Paul Junior which has a P90 in the bridge but its more of a punk sound for that, there's only 1 pickup.

And how do you find the Bigsby bridge (I think that's what it is?) with keeping it in tune and all that?

Yes, they are (Dog-eared) P90s in the Casino.  I haven't found any direct swaps on-line so, if you did want to upgrade them, then the best option seems to be to take them out and get them re-wired.

It was supplied with a Bigsby (some sort of limited edition from Thomann).  The bridge saddles were notched, probably a standard non-trem bridge, and I think that these were the cause of tuning instability.  I swapped the bridge for a roller version (supplied by NW Guitars https://www.northwestguitars.co.uk/  who are just up the road from me) which seems to have fixed the problem.

Ah cool, I might want to switch out those for something else though P90's just give a different tone to humbuckers.

Can you remove the Bigsby and just have a regular tuno-matic bridge?

    First thought would be a Casino.  I’ve had mine for the best part of 10 years now;

I've got a Gary Clark Jr Casino which I think is great. It's the trapeze version, so no Bigsby to worry about.
The electrics are upgraded from the factory vs the std Casino (Gibson pickups, switchcraft jack and switch).
    Like this one.....

I also have a 2019 Gibson LP DC Jr. Despite both of them having Gibson P90s the sound is totally different. The Casino can do some pretty sweet cleans, but also some nice electro blues / fuzz tones. Since it is fully hollow it can get quite feedback-y, but sometimes that can be brilliant - with a bit of gain and volume the whole guitar feels alive and starts to resonate. You already know what the Jr. does well.

One other thing to consider with the Casino is that the neck joins at the 16th fret, which makes upper fret access difficult. That may or may not be a concern to you.
Very nice! Yeah my LP Junior has a bit more bite and its too much for the middle-of-the-road alternative rock stuff!

I'd only really be using it for typical G, D and other extended open shapes, keep it jangly! Not really fussed about access to higher frets really.

That is beautiful.  How's the playing comfort with that bridge, is it modded?
    No Darling....I've had that ages.

After having this guitar a scant few weeks I think it's probably the best mid priced semi I've ever played. I intend to do a full review of it in the 'Review section soon, but if you want jangly, twangy punchy and thoroughly rude with outrageous bling value ... this is your huckleberry. And if you don't want a Bigsby ... simply get the non 'T' model.

There is no 'H' in Aych, you know that don't you? ~ Wife

Turns out there is an H in Haych! ~ Sporky

    Bit of trading feedback here.

Bridge doesn't get in the way when playing, though it does impart a feel, esp when fingerpicking which is how I mostly play. The only mod is replacement feet for bridge as originals were lost. Currently having some new ones made.

    It's not a 335 but it's *my* semi.

    Ahem.

Please also excuse my very old pedalboard (although I wish I still had a few of those pedals) and the poor picture quality.

Semis, you say? I've had a few in my time... (Just ask my wife, fnar fnar)

My imgur has a few. I won't spam the thread but I'll start with my Starcaster and if you can find my profile you'll see the Matsumoku Riviera, some Hondos, a Rick, a semi bass and a Tele, too...

Will I have to spend £500+ to get a good sounding one though? I know Epiphone is known as the "poor man's Gibsons" but these days guitars are better and some play quite nicely.

Are you going to keep the stock blacktop pups?  I really liked mine.  Sounded properly meaty with TS into OD
