Mixing Challenge No' 6....

Welcome to the 6th "theFB Mixing Challenge".

Been a while but hey... Life innit!!!!!

Uncle Slippyfist has very kindly donated the tracks from his last cover challenge effort - "The Power Of Love" in this instance a cover of the Joe Simon classic...

This is about getting a good mix from what is available, so no "re-recording parts" but feel free to use or not use the tracks available...

Send your submissions to mix@thefretboard.co.uk as an mp3.

Voting will start soon after the submission deadline of 23rd Aug 2019 with each voter selecting their 1st, 2nd and 3rd choice.

First choice gets 5 points - Second choice gets 3 points - Third choice gets 1 point

Voting will end on 11.30pm 31st Aug 2019

The order and scores of the top three entries will be announced soon after the voting ends. If there are 8 or more entries, then the order and scores of those in the top half will be announced.  

No prizes. It's just for fun.

As people submit their entries, I'll post them in the playlist below. Hopefully we can share tips and tricks on how the mix was achieved.

Just for info … incase an effect is added that needs to be accurate mapped to the tempo … maybe … what was the bpm.

I could work it out, but I'm feeling VERY lazy today

I think... was 105bpm... not in front of the Mac so can’t check for certain but that should be right....

This is a really good challenge. I've had two sessions just for balancing audio and I'm quite stuck now. Uncle's version is good but has a very distinct sound (reminds me of pink floyd) that I am making a conscious effort to not copy.
