Amazon made The Boys into a live action series. I watched it all earlier this week. It's pretty damn good I have to say. If you're into the comic book, or general sleazo-violence then you will dig it. Muchos recommendos.

Watched it last week in a box set binge with the wife. 
I completely agree, top series.

It’s a good ‘un.  Definitely not for the faint hearted.

Karl Urban’s accent is a bit ropy, but not as bad as Simon Pegg’s.

Yeah, took a while to get used to Karl's accent. Wasn't that bothered by Simon Pegg's. Reminded me of Hugh Laurie in House.

Pegg wrote the intro to the graphic novel back in 2005. I think they created his character because of that

I quite like Urban's accent, I like to imagine Dick Van Dyke talking like that in Mary Poppins.

Well Hughie in the comic is supposed to look quite like Simon Pegg too.

Great season and can’t wait for season two. 

Only thing I didn’t like was the shocking London accent of Billy Butcher, all over the place. Actor keeps slipping badly into his New Zealand accent.

I was all up for that until I read the Pegg word. He’s just not funny, same as that other twat Gervais. Too many accolades and very irritating.

really? I was hoping he'd done better

I kept wondering if I'd made a mistake and they'd recast Urban's character as an Aussie/Kiwi - it's not the odd word, it's 70% wrong

Fully agree, other than I'm not sure what it is he ends up in, sounds weird

Pegg's role is <1% of the scenes

He’s only in it as the protagonist’s father; extremely minor part and not comic.  He’s doing an American accent for it though, which is very jarring.  Frankly I don’t think it’s required for the role.

I finished watching the first series of the Boys last night and I enjoyed it upto an extent, I had a few gripes with the narrative but it's probably best to avoid discussing those to avoid putting up spoilers for those who haven't seen it. 

I'm in two minds whether I'd recommend it or not.

I love the dialogue "...America's favourite invisible wanker..." 

or when talking about something attributed to God "...bit of a cunty move...."
