Haven't used them for work, but my experience of Strung Out is A1
I do Strung Out music's pickup rewinds, and they are lovely people to deal with.

It's Strung Out that ICBM works at, I believe. I've never been there though but keep meaning to visit.
It is, but I don't do the set-ups - I'm almost exclusively an amp tech at the shop, although I do guitar work elsewhere. There are three better luthiers than I am who work there!

Nice vibe in Strung Out but I've never had any work done by them (bit far away from me).

Chris McIntyre in Edinburgh is good, but get a price agreed up front and a clear understanding that that's the total amount you will actually pay - I've twice had bills from him that were higher than I believe we agreed.
Don't get me started on him...

The Guitar Workshop in Finnieston would be my first choice, although I've used Strung Out too

Ahh, that's good to know. Should really add for completeness that I have had amp work done by @ICBM & that was A1 too, including bringing my old favourite back from the dead when two others couldn't. Very reasonable rates too.

  • StrungOut are great as is @ICBM obviously - I hear the guy in the basement at GuitarGuitar is good, same for Jimmy Egypt, have never heard of the FInnieston one but great reviews here!

Edinburgh - Bob at guitarguitar I've heard is good. Was curious about Chris but never tried him.
