Is there any science to the positioning as I've seen them on just the B & e string, the D, G, B & e string, before the logo and after the logo. Why is that?

I guess positioning could just be down to where the Fender logo is but what makes 1 Tele worthy of 2 and another only 1?

My understanding is that the guides are there to ensure the break angle across the nut isn't too shallow. On some Fenders the heights of the tuner posts are staggered (shortest furthest from the nut) to increase the break angle.
I play guitar because I enjoy it rather than because I’m any good at it
