[sold] Fender Musicmaster (Bass) Amp, handwired tone machine

Swore I'd never sell this, but needs must. Nominally a bass amp, but you won't say that once you've plugged a guitar into it.

12W from a pair of 6V6s, handwired with a very simple circuit - a recipe for pure tweed tone and touch-sensitivity. 

I've tried various speakers in this, but the original Fender - while lightweight in the bottom end - has a purity that 'better' units can't match. (Mind you, if you do want a thicker tone, I can throw in a Cannabis Rex for an extra £50.)

Decent condition, speaker cloth intact. I'm in London SW16 - come and try it out. £375.

Interesting: is a tweed the closest equivalent tone-wise to this? Trying to imagine what a SF bass amp sounds like with a six-stringer (namely a Tele).

The smooth overdrive and responsive feel are totally tweed, but EQ-wise it's got a bit of 'small Marshall' boxiness. It loves my Tele.

Gah, can't believe I forgot to include the David Gilmour story.

A few years back I had another one of these, exactly the same model, and sold it to DG by mistake. I was told afterwards that he loved it.

Have a Bank Holiday Weekend bump: a pro bass player friend of mine once decided to sell his original Hiwatt heads and cabinets when he gave up playing live for a while. Had a phone call from a 'Dave' and duly arranged a meet up. Turned out to be none other than David Gilmour who duly bought the Hiwatts.
