best online source of electronic components ?

Have some projects or car crashes depending on my focus n rusty soldering skills - A true bypass on a wah ; Strymon fav switch clone .

Who is best to deal with at this sort of purchase level...

as always advice appreciated ..

It can be a bit of a minefield because their selections are so large, but RS components and Farnell are both pretty good.  I've also used Mouser for more difficult items to find such as rotary switches.

5mm led / 1k resistor / 1/4 " jack socket + an spdt footswitch    -  sussed yesterday that the wah mod can use the current switch as its dpdt as std on my i-version gcb-95.

Its certainly not a Thorpy / Fredric level enterprise ... :-)

+1 .These folks are great and they also do a nice range of Vero-board based kits of famous pedals. I use them all the time.

Not bought anything like that for a while but Banzai used to be good.
Maybe not the cheapest and can take a while but an excellent site to use and for getting everything you need in the one place. 
Never had a problem.

Hey slightly OT but is 1k resistor a reasonable value to use with a 5mm LED? I have a stash of them. The fuzz dog kits use 2k2 with the smaller LEDs

Depends entirely on the LED type and circuit voltage.
