Just had a notification that there's an issue with the physical host of our server - Linode are investigating, it may result in downtime. No estimates at the moment.

May the Force be with us all...

UPDATE: All sorted by 6:05pm.

I thought for a moment that LWAG had prorogued the forum via a DDOS attack.

  • I'm seeing "Query failed: connection to localhost:9312 failed (errno=111, msg=Connection refused)." at the top of the page, but otherwise everything seems ok.

    That's sorted now :)

Linode have restarted the servers, all appears to be well now.

So the forum runs on Linux ?
Lack of planning on your part does not constitute an emergency on mine.
Also chips are "Plant-based" no matter how you cook them.

Ubuntu. I run my servers with the same distribution that I use on my desktop - keeps the need to memorise different commands and approaches to a minimum.

XFCE. It's got the best combination of speed, efficiency and eye candy (and it handles multiple monitors really well).

Interesting...  I ran Mint for quite a while with XFCE.  Can you recommend any study material for Linux noobs ?  I keep trying and keep getting frustrated because I'm blindly pasting in commands from a myriad of websites that purport to be the fix for whatever problem I'm having, but it frustrates me as I don't understand what it is that I'm actually doing.
