Origin 50 head -9 month on Review

As all the neighbours were away and have been left alone in house, have spent two weeks intensively auditioning my guitar and pedals in combinations with the amp.

First important fact is to have good cables to reduce any Hi Gain hiss  and if you have a reverse polarity pedal at the end of your chain it can help with clicks or pops or hum (if you get any).

The sound is great on all power settings and is no meed to dial up the master and gain contrary to what everyone claims. With just a few pedals - a TS, Klon clone, reverb and delay and an additional Trans Drive, coupled with the Boost, you got all bases covered for that classic Marshall tone.

All the mature students who came for lessons were given the chance to play through it at varying volumes and all loved it.

Guitars that really stand out are telecasters and P90 guitars - the LP Jr and some boost is awesome, but not all guitars like the same pedal combos and so this process is an invaluable (if not rather arduous) process to go through.

The punch from this thing is tremendous and really makes your trousers flap! but I have navigated to the mid setting mostly as once past the blustering fun, the tones are more easily shaped and then can be translated once you switch up to Hi setting.

So when everyone asks "does it take pedals?" the answer is yes, but not all and not the same with all guitars.

Big Grin :)

The only pedal ,so far, that this amp does not respond well to, is the EHX Soul Food
