Sold - £315 ovno - Fender Squier J Mascis Jazzmaster

J Mascis Jazzmaster, very good condition.  . . Obvious changes are the Pickguard + Sperzels tuners, the orange switch tip and the Fender "F" neck plate plus I put a set of Telecaster Vol & Tone knobs on because the standard Stratocaster style knobs looked a bit rubbish. I was also told that it had a fairly recent fret dress and I don't doubt that as its a joy to feel and play. 

The action is great and it holds tune well. Sadly, It didn't come with a tremolo arm and I had to re-assemble the tremolo assembly as it wouldn't operate at all at first but its all sorted now though   . It has some very minor wear to it and a slight chip from a screw hole where the original tuners were removed . . It looks like a tiny, and I mean tiny, fleck of maple stuck to the tuner . . 

All the rumours are true these are awesome guitars . . It has a gig bag but the strap and strap rubbers shown in the images are NOT with the guitar . . .  Local pickup preferred or you can arrange your own courier . . .  . . . Im at OL2 7QT . . . I have my eye on something else so I would consider sensible offers . . .

Played this lovely guitar and it’s a great example of the Mascis Jazzmaster. I ended up falling for his acoustic and buying that instead If I had the spare cash I’d have bought this too, plays and sounds lovely!

Pretty guitar! I love offsets! If got a MIJ with creamy pups and a Doheny V12.

What are the pups like in these? Are they proper jazzmaster style and not the mij ones?

Hello Rich . . . I'm not too sure exactly how they compare to other Jazzmaster guitars . . . I have a USA Telecaster and a USA AVRI Stratocaster and can only compare the JM Jazzmaster to them . . Im informed that they are more P90 than actual Jazzmaster pickups but to me, they are fantastic . . Great clarity and and an amazing growl when driven . . I love the neck pickup as its got more or less all I need . . Great guitars, Fender nailed it :-)

P90 pickup construction
Satin neck
Neck radius
Jumbo frets
And a tom bridge
And the vibrato system is closer to the bridge (or at least used to be on the older ones)
