I do like that unhinged beat and rhythm. Great stuff.

Here's a classic Nile Rodgers and Bernard Edwards disco track from the late 70's as suggested by Mrs equalsql.
Humm.. I wonder where Daft Punk got some of their visual ideas from?

Here's a cracking golden oldie from the quite frankly brilliant Mica Paris, arguably one of the finest soul singers ever to have come out of our little island.

Time for a real classic early 80s dance track from the wonderful Shalamar: "A Night To Remember".

At the time this really was the pinnacle of quality dance/funk music.
Shalamar were nothing short of a legend on the 80s dance music scene and famously their singer/dancer Jeffrey Daniels was the guy who taught the Moon Walk to Michael Jackson.

And here's Jeffrey doing his 'thing' to the song on TOTP back in 1982

And cos it's Friday and I reminiscing about playing in some great soul/funk bands back in Cambridge in the mid 80s, here's the superb 'Change Of Heart' by the band Change who were a gold standard back then on the funk scene.
    Man, I miss those days!

There is no sicker neo-soul groove than Rob Araujo & Anomalie's 'Hang Glide'

Bringing this back with the incredible Janelle Monea.

    Mindblowing intensity here.
