Sent mine in. First one for months!

It’s my P90 equipped Les Paul through a Revival drive and a Flint into a Mooer Radar direct into my interface and Protools.

My approach was to noodle around aimlessly until something worked then recorded a few takes. Picked the best bits of each take and stuck them together.

That's very honest, but whatever it takes.

I try to do one take after running through it loads of times to plan out what I'm broadly going to play. But on this one, I did a couple of drop-ins towards the end.

    It's not a competition.

If I'd had a bit more time I'd probably have gone back and tried to record a definitive version of the solo in one take but with a solo like this where I wanted to leave plenty of space between phrases anyway, it would be a bit pointless :)

Added to playlist. That makes 8 entries.

A good few entries this month. Bluesy stuff is obviously popular. Any suggestions for a style for next month?

I did mine in one take. I did a couple of takes on one day, didn't like them.

Did three or four the next day, one or two with a cleaner sound, which I liked but which was well inside my comfort zone. Bit jazzier, less gainy, fewer bends. But I wanted to try something a bit more "bluesy" so I cranked the gain up a bit more and did more bends. I used one of the two takes I did, but can't remember which.

    Pop in G ionian

What something like Sweet Home Alabama. Or is that D Mixolydian? It's about time that argument resurfaced again

Actually we've had that one, so I need to think of something else.

    It's not a competition.

Let's go for a poppy, country & western type tune in G major (or Ionian if you want to use the posh name).

  • Good to see some old faces back in the mix this month. I'm really enjoying these so far, all different, but all with their own appeal.

Just uploaded my entry. Hope I've done it all correctly.

Was going for a trad Allmans type sound. Out of practice so a few clams after a few weeks away from it all but wanted to just get the feel over while teaching myself how to use Bandlab's new free verison of Cakewalk.

Les Paul Standard with Ox4 A4 Low wind Pickups
Neck pickup Vol 9, tone 6.

Marshall SV20H and 1x12" Greenback in a cheapo cab

    Mic Sennheiser E906

A touch of reverb in post. No other changes.

EDIT: I forgot to give mine a banterific title!

I shall now refer to it as Drain Allman...

EDIT EDIT: Some lovely work on the playlist chaps.

EDIT EDIT EDIT: re-sent the track after a ballsup my end. Thanks.
My Trade Feedback Thread is here

Been uploading old tracks I recorded ages ago and hopefully some new noodles here.
