Electric Sander recommendations please

Present need is for a simple project of removing the glue from a bare 4x12 cab. My last one was a belt sander. Thought I'd try an orbital sander. I was looking at an Einhell for 50£. I wondered if I should consider doubling my money for a better product: a Bosch perhaps.
Any Brand preferences?

FWIW I have a Makita orbital palm sander. It was bought for sanding guitar bodies, rather than flat surfaces like cabinets. Can’t remember which model, but it’s a blue one. 

As for glue, I’d chip as much as possible off before sanding. Otherwise there’s the risk of sanding a depression around the remaining bits of glue.

Rather than buying precut sand paper I’d buy a roll, and cut lengths with a craft knife. Then you’re less tempted to keep sanding away when the paper is already worn.

The electric sander's probably overkill. I'll pick up a roll of sandpaper tomorrow morning, 40 or 60 grain and then go up to120 when it's time to make it look pretty. The glue is quite thin so nothing too difficult. It would just make the job a lot quicker.

In which case you just need a block of wood to wrap it round. Say 8” x 2” x 1”. I’d probably start with 60 or 80

the bosch pex300 random orbit sander looks alright. the pex220a is half the price.

Hand sanding is out. An electric sander it is. My good sense says to pay the extra for a good piece of equipment, whereas my GAS reminds me that gear is better. 
The bosch professional 125-150 looks great but for 200 euros is 4 time’s my initial budget. The hobby range is more suitable.

Bought one of these the other weekend. Cheap as chips (£29) and gets the job done well. It sands an awful lot better than the mouse and flat sheet sanders I had before.

If you want it for this particular job and aren't wanting use it as a pro, it would be more than adequate.

New advice today: use a Stanley knife blade to scrape away the glue. My mate reckons it should come away like butter. 
If so, I can invest the saving in GAS.

Good luck, if you do get a sander at some point if recommend getting a 150mm one, maybe a reconditioned or used Bosch gex150 of you can find one.

I was almost going to get the gex 125-150 that gives you both sizes. best spending that 200 on GAS though, right?

Blade did nothing. A sander is the only option as I don’t want to use a solvent.

And its the best bit of kit and get used all the time. The wood cutting blades are really handy and it also has an oscillating sander head attachment that will allow you to be more precise than with a regular sander. 

Edit* I've just remembered that there's a knife edge blade that might also do the trick?

to start with, then you might get away with a palm sander. I use one of these for work they are good but you absolutely need Mirka Abranet as it is very resistant to clogging. This sander has both Velcro and clips to use cheaper rolls of abrasive.

Edit - you’ll need a proper 3m respirator too. Not one of those flimsy paper things. The dust particles will ruin you otherwise

I'm holding out for some Black monday super offers. Yes, I'll get a proper 3m respirator. I haven't in the past and my lungs have not appreciated it.

I'm going to get the Makita BO5041 for 130 euros delivered. 
Then again, the BO5031 is only 100 euros through amazon prime. If it's good enough for @GoldenEraGuitars ....

Perfect. I'll get the respirator and matika bo5041. I'm having little luck with abrasive discs. Do they have to be the velcro type? Nothing is coming up from DeWalt.
