Buying Hardwood Online - Where’s Good?

I want to make a Dutch tool chest https://www.lie-nielsen.com/products/build-a-dutch-tool-chest and something else to store my tools in & had a look around my local Wickes & B&Q with no luck.  

If somewhere is open on a Saturday morning that would be good & would also be handy if they delivered too.

So where do you lot use or have heard good reports about?  

Edit: Should have mentioned that I live in NW London.

It depends what you’re looking for. If you want rough spawn boards then find a local saw mill or merchant and go and pick the boards yourself.
If you want pre-prepared boards bought online (which will be comparatively expensive) then check out somewhere like http://www.britishhardwoods.co.uk/ or http://www.timbersource.co.uk/ or http://www.woodshopdirect.co.uk/

There's  a place sells big offcuts in Essex. Get a good reviews and open Saturday's. They make furniture and fit out posh houses selling off spare and offcuts to the trade and public.

I used to work in the timber trade as a stock controller for a large merchants in London, we didn't really deal (no pun intended) in hardwoods but a company that springs to mind are 'James Latham'. They were based in Islington somewhere and well known in the trade for specialising in hardwoods, might be worth a gander.

I work for Saunders Seasonings.. We have some incredible wood all cut down from in and around London including.. Yew, Oak, Beech, London Plane, Poplar, Ash  and more.. Based in E17.. I just sorted @TTony ;;;;;;out with a bunch of nice stuff.. We can also saw to spec and will do planed all round and we deliver.

Correction. I could have spent a lot *more* money.

As you’re in London too, maybe get yourself round there and I’m pretty sure that Mr Rabs will take good care of your timber needs.

I’ve ordered some PAR wood from timbersource before and have been fairly pleased, but it’s exepensive.
