I rescued one from a tip .Les Pauls they aint  but Dimarzios would greatly improve them .The original single coil in humbucker case  pickups  were OK for what they were  ,a sort of P90 ish sound but no substitute for the real thing ,The body isnt solid. Its got a moulded wood top with an air gap and a plywood rest of body .

My first ‘ real’ electric..... a Black one, upgrade from some 3/4 scaled catalogue guitar :) as you say ply bodied, but at £160? And possible dimarzios?

Looks a lot like one of those Kay lee pauls with the effects built in and load of switches on the front.  Maybe made in the same factory or something.  Anyone know?

Tony Bacon in the Sounds Book Of The Electric Guitar, c1981:
"Remember, Dimarzios on a poor guitar probably won't make it sound better, youl'l just have a louder poor guitar".

They were crap back then. Don't suppose they've improved with age.

Those LP copies had a pressed plywood top rather than carved, with a cavity between the top and the slab body.
