i was in holmes music on thursday and whilst looking at their guitars, basses i spotted one of these https://holmesmusic.co.uk/collections/bass-guitars/products/cort-action-bass-deluxe-open-pore-natural

i had to say it looked pretty nice (i didn't try it though).

was just wondering if anyone has tried one/owns one and what they thought of it?

The woodwork, hardware and fret finishing are all fine.

The thing that has always bothered me about that precise model is the pickups. I would want to change them to EMG-35 series or their nearest Duncan or Bartolini equivalents.

It seemed like folly to do that to a brand new instrument. Perhaps, if a pre-owned example turns up, I shall bring the project idea to completion?

P.S. Get the sen ash variant, NOT the Fotoflame basswood version.
You say, atom bomb. I say, tin of corned beef.

Not tried that model but I have played some other Corts, including the Jeff Berlin one.

Very nicely built instruments and well worthy of pickup upgrades.

I wouldn't mind having the JB model at some point - that one doesn't need any upgrades mind!
