This is the 54th solo of the Month (SotM) Challenge.
The challenge is now open ends at midnight 23rd November 2019.
Here's this month's backing track (you can download it from soundcloud).
https://soundcloud.com/thefretboard/sotm54-2019-11-yee-haw Record your solo over the top of it and then submit it (ideally in mp3 format) to solos@theFB.co.uk
Also, feel free to comment on how you approached the solo, which will add a bit more interest and maybe we can learn something from each other.
Discussion: An attempt at a country pop backing track.
Title: Yee Haw
Tempo 120 bpm
Chords
[D / / / D(2) / D /
G / / / G(2) / G /
D / / / D(2) / D /
A sus4/// A///] x 3
End on D
The backing track has some headroom to add your solos. Add your solo and (as a guideline) try to avoid boosting the overall level beyond that if possible. That way the entries should be at roughly the same level and we won't get into loudness wars.
Voting will start soon after the submission deadline, with each voter selecting their 1st, 2nd and 3rd choice.
First choice gets 5 points - Second choice gets 3 points - Third choice gets 1 point
The order and scores of the top three entries will be announced soon after the voting ends.
No prizes. It's just for fun.
It's not a competition.

Recorded with my Yamaha SG700s + a custom Bias FX2 patch with a short slapback delay then compressed, EQ'd and things in Reaper in an attempt to make it sound kind of like a country Tele.
Yeehaw
That was quick. I'll start a playlist when I get another entry.
Thanks for the info on how you recorded it.
Quickly played along acoustically with it and it's good fun.
Been uploading old tracks I recorded ages ago and hopefully some new noodles here.
Just to be different, I used a Tele on the Bridge into Deluxe Reverb Model in Guitar Rig, bit of Reverb and Delay.
Yah! Mule
Will try and get one in later this week.
I'll have to see if my riff fits...I think I can move the box down three frets and it should work
Edit: I mean a 'listening to Levon Helm' phase not a 'pretending to be' Levon Helm phase.
(Not that there would be anything wrong with that, if that's your bag...)
Anyways...

That makes two entries, which are in the playlist in the original post.
have you seen the film “the money pit”?
I've bought that!!!!!
Added to playlist. That makes 4 entries.
No pressure. It's just for fun. So that probably means zero entries to RotM, the way things have been going recently.
I will do one for this month. Just need to find time.

OK, as you got in first, I'll attempt that style. But, as usual, I'm not sure I'll do it justice.
Whatever the chords are for Shine On, or Breathe or Comfortably Numb or similar.Job's a goodun.
