Coronet inspired DC build

What's Hot

I thought I'd share this build, I've been meaning to get this done for ages

This is very much in the old epiphone coronet type style, I'm using very lightweight old limba for it, holly veneer is so I can colour code of I want, it is also better to keep the traditional truss rod access just deep enough to accept the half moon washer then more meat is left underneath

  • I can't wait to see how this will end up.  I reckon it'll be a beauty (even more so than it already is!)

Aside from the dogear (fine choice) I reckon it'd also look amazing with a staple style P90 as well.

After this one I'll work out another neck joint so I can stuff 2 pickups in it, might be an sg beater for me

This is doing the angled tenon on the overhead router and works great for me, it also allows me to adjust it easily if needed

  • Very nice work as always, lovely Limba! I like the angled tenon, I guess you can dial in any neck angle to suit the bridge? The rosewood board looks great as well and going to be a tone monster me thinks.

Yes you can change the angle easily this way and also vintage correct on juniors etc

Really looking forward to hearing this, if my other limba builds are anything to go by it'll be a huge sounding tone machine

Ok show off lol, I'm going to use a different joint for a 2 pickup version, it'll be better than an sg for me if it works out

I've never seen a Crestwood with New York Pickups.  However, the Coronet with the New York pickup is one of my all time favourite sounding guitars.

Here's some applause for you my good sir, one of the finest guitar pic I've seen on the web.  Thanks for posting it.
