Putting my Gibson J45 Vintage up for sale.

I spent a lot of time tracking this down - played a bunch of stuff but ultimately had my head and heart turned by this up-specced Adi-top version.

My Googling suggests that as Gibson are won't to do the model names and spec vary subtle with the passing years (months?, weeks? ffs Gibson marketing dept... lol) - there's "True Vintage" and another version I've heard, this model's correct name is "J45 Vintage"

It's in good condition, has had a strap button and an endpin jack fitted.

Price quoted is as-is with the pickup (which is, imho, excellent and was professionally fitted)

A year or so ago I had it fettled by an outstanding luthier in Bath (recommend by Stuart Ryan no less) and it remains to date the best playing acoustic I've owned.

Moving in with the girlfriend necessitates many fewer guitars (although is otherwise a cause for great celebration, I hasten to add in case she's watching)

Pics to whet the appetite, ask for anything specific -1

Yes... I think that's what the TV stands for in the model number.  :-)
I think it predates the Vintage... not sure what differences there are in spec.  Think the Vintage might have a torrified top (but not the TV).
Both models can sound really nice.

Well the 2 different chaps who seemed desperate to meet this weekend to do the deal seem to have fallen off the edge of the earth, so still available

...and the chap who came to buy it today had inexplicably brought a few hundred less than the agreed price :-)

Do you think he genuinely did being a few hundred less or didn’t have the balls to say that he wasn’t willing to go higher.
Who on earth actually would go to a purchase without the agreed money. What a waste of a trip!

No idea. I'm.used to the lowball-at-a-distance thing but to turn up short and use the "I simply don't have more" line is either naieve or intended to put the pressure on by being there and maybe I won't send them away empty handed.

Had another one the other day on my Helix phone me, chat about it for ages then ask if I'd take <lowest price ever for any helix anywhere> then say he really couldn't justify more as it was a whim purchase. Seemed odd he'd invest the time on the phone with such an unlikely offer. But then I'd have said that about travelling an hour to get a J45 too!
