What was it? Gibson. Looked like a black Les Paul, but thinner and slightly different shape, with only one vol and tone control. Never seen one before. Educate me.

Did it have engraved metal on its front? Zemaitis.
You say, atom bomb. I say, tin of corned beef.

Bless him but it felt like he really struggled to play Johnny B. Goode. Like it was right on the limit of his current skills.

How on Earth does he still hold down a spot in a Stones concert unless as often suggested there's a team of ringers playing under the stage.
My Trade Feedback Thread is here

Been uploading old tracks I recorded ages ago and hopefully some new noodles here.

I recently watched the Dylan 30th Anniversary DVD - he’s less than ‘stellar’ on that. Great painter, likeable bloke - but hasn’t ever been a wonderful guitar player.

  • Yeah I thought he was a good way from Chuck at his peak. No snap.

Wow... sounded like he was struggling.
I used to like his 'anarchic' timing - back in the days of the Faces... but that, for me, that version of Johnny B G was a step too far from living on the edge.

Hats off to Gregory Kochery, opening his demo video by playing Mick Taylor licks on the Ronnie Wood signature guitar.  =)

That's the bunny! I like it. Something traditional, but a bit different.

Agreed. I was impressed with his playing on the first track, but Johnny sounded like it could car crash at any moment!

With regards to the Stones, I remember watching a vid some years ago where Keef hardly played at all. Just walked around posturing. My mate reckons he's got better again since giving up the booze.

    Yikes.  That was shite.

(No I couldn't do better.  And no I'm not jealous.)

  • I remember seeing a L5S in a shop when I had started to play. I regret not trying it as the shop closed about three years later. Some 20 years later I saw one in a different shop and asked to try it. It was crap. I was so disappointed.

I always associate the L5S with the late Kevin Peek of Sky.  My brother had their first two albums, we were really into them for a little while.

  • Forgive my ignorance, but was it purely Richards insistence, because they were mates that Wood joined/stayed in the Rolling Stones? Seems criminal if that’s the case. Stonkingly brilliant to extremely average as soon as he joined - apart from a hand full of songs.

Every time I’ve ever heard Ronnie Wood it’s sounded like it’s all going to come apart at any moment. Somehow it never does though.
I play guitar because I enjoy it rather than because I’m any good at it

There was a timing issue in the intro riff and overall it was played with a “stonesy” looseness but I enjoyed it. Frankly I wish I could play like he does at 72 (after a lifetime of booze and fags)  and I’m half his age.
