When I built the 25th Anniversary series (some models still left amazingly) I earmarked one guitar to keep as a keepsake of the project as it's quite a milestone. As I had one of the 20th Anniversary models and the archtop 25ths were fairly similar I decided to do something with a slight twist for myself. And here it is.....
I do like a thinner bodied LP style guitar and many of you may have played (or owned) such a beast.
So I decided that I wanted a guitar that would be a slight crossover between a Les Paul and a superstrat.
A nice archtop version of the Feline Lion, but pretty much the thickness of a PRS custom 22 which would be perfect for a tremolo equipped guitar.
The neck would still be a 3 piece quarter-sawn mahogany , but I wanted a 25.5" scale rosewood board, but still with the art-deco inlay we used for the 25ths. Fretwire is my favourite Jescar 58118 (like Dunlop 6000...very big!) and a rare Earvana floyd nut is on there too. Tuners are Gotoh 510 series with ivoroid buttons.
We also went with some luminlay UV activated glow in the dark side dots
Naturally it wouldn't be one of our Lions if it didn't have a nice all access neck joint.
It has a gentle belly recess too which I rather appreciate.
Electronics wise I was a little torn . I initially wanted to put just a humbucker and a single coil size sustainiac pickup and controls, but I held back from doing that right away as I feared I'd spend way too much time just making silly noises with it , although I may still relent and do that . In the meantime I put a Monty's PAF "full Monty" at the bridge, although I have tried a BKP VH2 in there and maybe an Oil City Blackbird could stand in . Neck pickup is a BKP Irish tour with steel baseplate but it is a bit outgunned by the bridge HB which is not uncommon. Thinking I fancy a zebra HB in the bridge though and a Anomoly mounting ring too.
We used an original Floyd Rose but fitted a Fat Cat Guitar hardware oversize steel sustain block
The Floyd currently has a set of the Hollowpoint adjusters on there , but not sure I like them - they help you set intonation , and I liked how they looked, but they limit adjustment range.
We inlaid an extra fingerboard inlay just behind the back of the tremolo top recess, although it is a little hidden by the tinting of the body in some lights.

To the forum.... if you haven't tried a Feline then I suggest you do. They're beautiful, not affiliated in any way just a happy owner.
