Guess the wood?

What's Hot
KalimnaKalimna Frets: 1540
Greetings folks,
I'm shortly to be reunited with this guitar, and got sent a photo that shows off the fretboard rather nicely.
A proper NGD will follow, but for now, can anyone guess the wood? I'll give you a hint - it's not maple :)

    Yep, definitely tree wood that.

Edit:  I didn't want to guess properly as I'd most likely get it wrong.

There is no 'H' in Aych, you know that don't you? ~ Wife

Turns out there is an H in Haych! ~ Sporky

    Bit of trading feedback here.

My first thought was Kingwood, but it looks a bit too porous perhaps?

*edit* I also can't think of an LP I've seen before that uses it.

Jacaranda? Other than pau ferro, this would me my only other guess, by looking at the grain pattern.

Kingwood? Another good guess - also just because it looks like an LP doesnt mean it has Gibson on the headstock........

Jacaranda - nope (unless it is another name for this timber)

Braz Rosewood - idiotwindow closest yet. But not brazillian. Definitely a dalbergia.

    Definitely a dalbergia.
Thought as much - no nibs!

Madagascan rosewood then, my PRS Paul's Guitar was similarly grained and porous, but had slightly more orange in it (not as much as cocobolo though).
