Mailed fender and the message came back 'ask the store to request' . Anyone else done this for a 2nd hand guitar?

Is Matt from fender still around? Haven't seen a post for ages!

Cheers

Would have thought such items are restricted to prevent fraud.
Also, will a replacement COA actually be authentic?  :-/

It can be done - Fender require 4/5/6 pics - Headstock front + back - neck plate - serial number - front body

It is around £50 + vat

The date will be from today and not the original date

Whilst I've known it come in 2 weeks I've also known it take 2 months or so - Depends if they have any signed blank certificates in the USA or have to get them from the USA

Let me know if I can help further - Coda, WG can all help if closer to you - Update accordingly

  • As they’re owned by Fender do we know if this also applies to Gretsch?

Good question - I've never been asked by a customer - I've never ask Gretsch/Fender but will find out

Had a message back from FEnder UK - It appears they can get re-prints, but you'd have to go through an appropriate Gretsch dealer - I'm not a dealer for Gretsch - Sorry I don't have any costs + time scale
