I fancy making a drum stomp box.

Bit of timber or prefab box, some sort of pickup, volume pot, output jack.... got to be a piece of cake right?

I've even got a mixing amplifier so maybe don't need the volume pot and I can go into the same amp. 

Which pots and pickups to use though?

I made a cajon and used a piezo buzzer from an old smoke alarm as a pickup. Random pot and jack from my bits box.

I made a foot stomper using a cheap P-bass pickup (£5 off eBay) and a steel joining plate (used on roof trusses etc) inside a wooden wedge-shaped box. I left a hole in the sloping top and topped it off with a piece of rubber mat. Works fine.
