We all know that it's just a sales blurb that the EP booster is based on the famous echoplex and continue to advertise it as such...question, does it have anything to do with the old echoplex?

    No. Except in what it does or attempts to do, not how it does it. 

    Clinch FX Pre is a clone of the EP3 circuit. Maybe the Chase Secret Preamp too.

    Yep fantastic pedal. The newer super sweet booster isn't a patch on it in my opinion.

    It's just a simple boost with a FET buffered input and a common emitter gain stage. I had one in for repair and was surprised how expensive it is considering what's in it. 
    As simple as it is though it's very very well done
