Do you go for SP because unlike backing, with laying you want to see if the price comes down so you can lay more?

I've been thinking about starting my each way betting again, but queuing a lay on the win that I leave in play. Just not sure if it would annoy me the times the horse went on to actually win.

A coupe of reasons, I often lay favourites and so the prices sometime shorten in the minutes before the race so I win more at SP rather than committing at higher odds earlier in the day, it's rare I am watching in the minutes before the race as I tend to put bets on around lunch time, bet and forget. Plus laying SP on Betfair it's easy to lay a fixed laibility regardless of the odds and keep control of my exposure.

Still watching the 16:05 at Wolves today, pricing not quite there yet for a quailfying bet.

I’m interested - I haven’t got time to do matched betting at the moment so might take some inspiration from this thread and get laying.

Yesterday's horse finished 9th so good work.
Unfortunately missed it as I had to go out, I will check back later. I believe Betfair are the only company that let you lay but I can oppose on spreadex or sporting index.
    Thanks

There's Betdaq but the liquidity and cash volume isn't as big as BetFair Exchange

Southwell is a no go, Wolves still looks likely, will wait to place bet until this evening though.

    Nice one, well done!

This is really interesting watching how you do this, however I'm clueless with lay betting so had a look.

When I tried to do a £25 SP lay bet, it wouldn't tell me my liability (said TBD) and it appeared I couldn't limit my liability? Or does your stake limit the liability automatically to the same amount?

    Cheers!

My head said brake, but my heart cried never.

I lay at SP which asks you enter the liability amount so the amount I win will depend on the starting price odds, if you lay at at fixed price before the race, you set the amount you wish to win and see the liability calculated next to your stake.

Laying is the opposite of backing

I don't recommend anyone follows my bets, this is not a tipping service! losing bets are coming and I am not responsible for your losses, I play the long game.
