I've tried with RDR2 a couple of times. I desperately want to love it as the first is an all time great but it felt like a latter-period Tarantino film - all dialogue and not enough editing...
If I remember you kind of get out what you put in really, it may just take a few more hours to get going. Personally I never felt bored by it but I don't really remember the tutorial but after the intro period it just becomes a riot and a rollercoaster of a game. It surpasses the first in every way and the world they built is immersive and expansive. It's rare to find people who don't like it but not everything is for everyone, like I found Cyberpunk pretty boring.

I loved Astro too. Amazing modern platformer.

KCD1 is easily one of my top 10 - I haven't bought KCD2 yet, but intend to.

I bought games cheap like the Mafia Trilogy etc, so I want to do those first.

I tried cyberpunk and found it boring, gave up after a few hours.

I found it too clunky and derivative. I tried it again recently and it felt very style over substance. CD Projekt Red said they don't want a launch like that again so I'm hoping Witcher 4 is their return to form.

After a slow start.. I’m really enjoying it. I was not expecting to.

It seems pretty good from the off, although I'm not a huge fan of the in engine cut scenes as they take you out of the immersion, but the game has kept me engaged for a few hours which is good. It seems very involved.

  • Me and ladyprettydamned have started the remaster of Pac Man 3d from the ps1 era. Bringing back some memories of me and my dad playing it together - the only 3d video game he enjoyed.

I'm still hopeful I'll enjoy CP77 but don't want to pay anything like full price as I didn't like the Witcher 3. Still hoping for a PS+ release eventually

Oh, and I tried The Forgotten City, but decided I was OK with just dying there if it meant I didn't have to have any more conversations.

I think that game's Marmite, some really rate it.  I really liked the idea, but the reality is that I spend so much time being analytical during work time, that I don't need it recreationally.

Don't know about you, but there are a few moments where I got emotionally invested in characters and what happened to them got a response from me.  No spoilers though!

Got a new controller, these have TMR sticks, apparently it's the next. sliced bread in town and Hall effects is now so last century.

    Gamsir Cyclone 2.

It's nice but I don't think it is end game controller.  The buttons (both face button and the D-pad) and clicky.  Think of a mechanical keyboard between blue switches and red linear switches.  These are like blue clicky switches whereas all the other controllers are linear red or brown switches in feel.

Having been bitten by the pocket handheld emulator bug, what would be the best system for PS2 games?  Are most of them running Linux based operating systems, and would it be worth going for something that can also play windows/steam games?  I have a steam account with dozens of older games that I haven't played for a good few years.

Retroid RP5 or or Odin 2 mini.

Both android devices, both require hours of setting up but retro game corps' channel have a detailed guide how to, just follow it to the letter.

p.s. you will need at least a 256GB micro SD card, 512GB if possible.  4-8gb per game, it doesn't take many before it fills up a card.

Personally the RP5 is the sweet sport, it is £220 after shipping, whereas the Odin is over £300.  At this price point you are into a used LCD Steam Deck or a refurbished one which can then play everything.  Of course, the Steam Deck is not as portable.

    Minishoot' Adventures.

Absolute genius. Like if Link was a spaceship in a twin-stick bullet-hell game, with the music from Fez.

    I'm loathe to give straight 10s, so let's say 9.99999998. But I can't justify that missing 0.0000002.

I am building a marina in Construction Simulator, on high spec (read as "hard mode").

After three and a half hours of excavating (with the biggest excavator) I am 26% of the way through the first stage of the job.

    Brilliant!

Haven't played Baldurs Gate 3 in over a week, got burned out on it. I paid £1.60 or something to upgrade my ps plus to the top tier for a week or 2. So far I've had fun scrolling through the games and playing none of them.
