New Mac with USB C - what interface for guitar?

Hey all, got one of those swanky new MacBook Pros that only has USB C.

My Apogee Jam 96k, with a USB A to USB C adapter kinda works for plugging into GarageBand and Tonebridge but there are some odd noises that I guess are coming from the port adaptation (it all works OK on my old Mac with no adapter).

What do folks use to go in to the new Macs? (There's no Jam 96K to USB C direct cable available I think).

Maybe try the Audient Sono? Two mic pres, instrument in, on-board 12AX7 preamp and Two Notes Torpedo Cab sims. 

I think they’re £300 in the sales right now. £100 more than the non-guitar Audient ID14 but may be worth it for the extra preamp and Two Notes bits n pieces. Comes with USB-C cable.

How much do you want to spend?

You can use anything you like with a USB C to USB type B cable/converter if it has current drivers for your machine or is class compliant.

I'm using a Focusrite Scarlett 6i6 with a USB C to A 4-port hub with no issues.

Are you sure the issue is with the interface and not with background processes interfering with the audio conversion? I've never found that to be an issue with Macs, but to do any kind of recording on Windows with the same interface, I have to disable wi-fi, firewalls, anti-virus software and basically anything that runs in the background otherwise I get all kinds of clicks and glitches in the audio.

thanks @Jeremiah - no I'm not sure, was a brand new machine with nothing running though.

It's probably a thunderbolt connection too, so that gives you further options
