Well, I was after a bass for a project as my old Yamaha Fretless and Musicman copy were getting a bit knackered . Damn you internet ! after trawling through various interesting basses I settled on this beast of an Ibanez, 35” scale so the low B doesn’t flap like flares in front of a 4x12, tuned in fourths  B E A D G C F , Bartolini active pickups,,,,,,well, here it is ! I may need professional
help but I haven’t had this much fun with an instrument in years

Tune it down a semitone, add a string mute and you could play Chapman Stick style two-handed tapping.

Are the pickups actually active or just the onboard EQ?
    Be seeing you.

Tune it like a seven-string guitar an octave down and play Vai type stuff on it at half speed :).

Preferably through about 1000 watts of full-range amplification and a wall of speakers.

But warn the British Geological Survey first...

It’s really nicely put together and the 35” scale means that the low B doesn’t flap or rattle at sll

  • Therapy? I think I'd be needing finger extension surgery rather than therapy!  ;)
