Blazing Saddles!

The original saddles on my 1981 strat have seen better days. I'm planning a straight replacement with some new regular Fender ones, but have seen these "roller" ones knocking about that look rather flash. 

Any advice on whether I should stay classic or go space age?

Roller saddles will change the sound. (Difficult to say by exactly how much.) The supposed advantages of the rollers can be achieved with self-lubricating inserts à la GraphTech String Savers.

I really didn’t like the sound of Graphtec saddles when I had some on a guitar so try before you buy IMO.
