Clay dots

Hi all

I'm looking for some clay dots for my Strat but can’t seem to find much info on t’web.... Can anyone point me in the right direction please?

Weren't clay dots just fibreboard?

They were never clay, @victorludorum is pretty much correct. They turned to a “clay” colour due to the rosewood oil bleeding into them. 

Rothko and frost do CAB cream coloured dots which look lovely. For the tan/brown colour you’ll need to experiment a bit with some ageing techniques to find out what works best for you.

6mm for the fretboard and 2mm for the sides usually

Make sure your dots are 6mm and not 1/4 inch

These take about 2 weeks to come from China, really good quality, once they are in a rosewood Fingerboard they look just like the original "clay dots".
